Match Summary

Pakistan vs New Zealand, 1st ODI, New Zealand tour of Pakistan

Pakistan 258/4 (48.1 ov)

New Zealand 255/9 (50 ov)

Pakistan won by 6 wickets

SCORECARD

After losing the toss New Zealand were put in to bat, Devon Conway falling to the final ball of the 1st over with things starting in Pakistans favour.

It was more of a team performance than any stand-out names, as seven of the batsmen scored 20+ runs.

Along the way a Naseem Shah (5/57) 5fer distrupted them, and made sure nobody reached that prestiged half century.

Closest was Michael Bracewell (43) who top scored for New Zealand as they headed in at 255/9.

Fakhar Zaman (56) opened well for Pakistan, scoring a half century before Michael Bracewell (2/44) removed him and his partner.

Babar Azam (66) was the next challenge for New Zealand to solve, and it wasn't until his half century that Glenn Phillips found the key.

Pakistan's onslaught didn't end there though, Mohammad Rizwan (76*) found his way to his own half century, partnered with Haris Sohail (32) to push it to the wire.

Rizwan stuck in the distance, leading Pakistan to a 6 wicket win.
