SCORECARD

A clinical bowling display from start to finish was exactly what the team needed, given their recent struggles with ball control. Stand-in captain Nathan Ellis led the way with a masterful performance, delivering the tough overs with ease.

After winning the coin toss, the team decided to bowl first and Ellis's steady hand helped them get off to a strong start. Overall, it was a commanding performance from the bowlers, who were able to put the opposition under pressure from the very beginning.

Zak Crawley made a brilliant throw to catch Joe Clarke short of the crease, but the Stars still had a lot of work to do to recover. Hilton Cartwright was on fire, hitting the boundaries with ease and forming a solid partnership with Beau Webster, who started slow but never picked up the pace.

Despite Cartwright's strong performance, Thomas Rogers was unable to capitalize and the Stars were left with a lot of ground to make up.

It was a close call for the Hobart Hurricanes as they almost lost their match despite having a strong lead at the halfway mark. Caleb Jewell had been performing well for the team, but several players struggled and were unable to contribute significantly to the score.

In the end, the Hurricanes barely managed to secure a win despite the chaos on the field.

Zak Crawley hit a few balls to the boundary but was unable to sustain his performance. The rest of the team swung wildly and found themselves dismissed from the game in quick succession, despite the delayed use of the Power Surge. The score went from 94/1 to 129/8 and it looked like the chase would fall apart. Asif Ali's six helped to ease the pressure, but once he was out, it was the captain Nathan Ellis' lucky boundary that helped his team cross the finish line.

Hobart Hurricanes won by 2 wickets.
