Hobart fell short of their goal of scoring over 180 runs , only managing to secure 162 runs with the help of a handy cameo from Joel Paris. Despite this disappointment, Paris' contribution helped Hobart surpass the 160 run mark.

Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott provided a strong start for the team, but their departures left Hobart at 94/2. The team then suffered a setback as they slipped to 105-5, with David involved in a run-out with Wade.

Hobart's innings was in danger of collapsing after David was run-out, but Faheem Ashraf and Paris contributed valuable runs towards the end to steady the team's performance.
