Brisbane Heat won the toss and elected to field and Melbourne Renegades scored 162/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to a standout performance from Shaun Marsh. Despite losing wickets at key moments, Marsh held the innings together with a remarkable 82 off 53 balls. He received support from Sam Harper and Matt Critchley, who added valuable runs, and Jonathan Wells sealed the deal with a quick 12 off 4 balls to ensure the Renegades ended with a score of 162/5.

The Brisbane Heat bowlers successfully limited the Renegades to a par score by keeping their deliveries on target throughout the innings. Xavier Bartlett was the standout bowler, taking three crucial wickets including those of Guptill, Harper, and Critchley. Nesser supported him well, finishing with 2/33. James Bazley had a difficult outing, however, giving up 35 runs in his three overs.

The Surge attempted to close out the game quickly but both batters were dismissed, giving the Renegades a chance to make a comeback. However, Hain and Renshaw sealed the win for the team, completing the task with 7 balls remaining.

The Renegades are out, and the Heat will now face the Sixers in the Challenger match for a spot in the final.
