Sydney Sixers won the toss & elected to bat and despite losing three wickets for just 42 runs, the Sixers managed to reach 151. This was made possible by two outstanding innings from Henriques and Silk. Their partnership proved crucial in getting the team back on track and building momentum during the middle overs.
Henriques, who was dropped at 11 by Tye, went on to score a half-century. Silk remained at the crease until the end and made an unbeaten 47. Their 88-run partnership was well-constructed, as they scored 45 runs in 5 overs after the drinks break and then took the surge.
Sydney Sixers scored 31 runs in a surge, however, lost two wickets in the final two balls. Payne secured the crucial wicket of Henriques, which caused the run rate to decrease and ultimately resulted in a final score of 151 runs.
In the run chase, the Scorchers were reeling at 22/3 with Stephen Eskinazi, Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis all out.
Ashton Turner and Bancroft rescued their team from a difficult position of 22/3 at the end of 4 overs, with a 132-run partnership that ultimately led to their team's victory. Bancroft sealed the win with a boundary shot that also brought him to his half-century.
The Sydney Sixers were in control of the game for the first 4 overs, with Abbott's successful attack which resulted in all three wickets, but then it was a Turner and Bancroft show. Their well-paced partnership, and masterful chase, resulted in a victory for the Perth Scorchers.
