Ramandeep Singh (24 not out:9b, 2x4, 2x6) and Andre Russell (27 not out:20b, 4x4) finished the innings on a high. Kolkata posted a gigantic total of 222 for six. For Bengaluru, Cameron Green was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of two for 35.

In the chase, Bengaluru had a shaky start as Virat Kohli (18:7b, 1x4, 2x6) fell to a controversial dismissal and skipper Faf du Plessis managed just seven. However, after that Will Jacks (55:32b, 4x4, 5x6) and Rajat Patidar (52:23b, 3x4, 5x6) brought their team back into the game with their brutal half-centuries. The duo added 102 runs for the third wicket and kept their team in the hunt. Bengaluru came under more pressure as they lost four quick wickets after that. Suyash Prabhudessai (24:18b, 3x4) and Dinesh Karthik (25:18b,3x4, 1x6) in the end tried their best but couldn’t take their team home. Karn Sharma hit some big blows in the end and took his team close but Bengaluru fell short of just one run.
