Australia thrashed Namibia by nine wickets to win their third consecutive game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in a Group B encounter at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

Match Highlights

Opting to bowl, Australia bundled out Namibia for just 72 and then chased the target inside six overs. 

Namibia had a forgettable outing with the bat as they lost wickets at the regular intervals right from the start. They were reduced to 43 for nine and it seemed they would get all out under 100.

But skipper Gerhard Erasmus (36:43b, 4x4, 1x6) played a fighting knock for his team and took them to the total of 72. For Australia, Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of four for 12. 

Australia came out all guns blazing in the chase as David Warner (20:8b, 3x4, 1x6) and Travis Head (34 not out:17b, 5x4, 2x6) stitched 21 runs inside two overs.

After Warner got out, skipper Mitchell Marsh (18 not out:9b, 3x4, 1x6) joined the party. Warner along with Head added 52 runs for second wicket and took the team home with nine wickets in hand.
