Charles scored 38 at the top of the order while Nicholas Pooran made 36 runs. Rovman Powell provided the much needed impetus into the innings with his whirlwind knock of 36 runs in 17 balls. Once he was dismissed though, West Indies lost their way and kept losing wickets in regular succession. As a result, they had to settle for an under par total of 180 in 20 overs of play.
During the chase, England lost Jos Buttler early on but Philip Salt looked in great rhythm. He kept the hopes for a successful chase alive. Salt smashed 87 off 47 balls while Jonny Bairstow scored 48 runs. Both stayed not out and steered their side home with 8 wickets in hand.

South Africa have made a winning start to their Super 8's campaign by defeating USA with a margin of 18 runs.
South Africa batted first and they posted a total of 194 for 4 in 20 overs. Quinton de Kock started off very well and while he was batting, it looked like South Africa will reach 200+ easily. The middle order struggled to find timing and South Africa had to settle for 194, when at one point they were aiming 210+.
During the chase, USA started off well with Steven Taylor finding the middle of his bat on numerous occasions. The other top order batters simply threw their wicket away after the dismissal of Steven Taylor. Andries Gous held his nerve though and didn't play any rash shot, keeping them for the death overs. Gous scored 80 runs. He was involved in a solid partnership of 91 runs with Harmeet Singh. Both tried their best but failed to take USA home as they fell short by 18 runs in the end.
