Hasan's Four-Wicket Haul Leads Kings to Victory in 22nd Match of Pakistan Super League
Karachi Kings secured their third victory of HBL PSL 9 with a convincing seven-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators on Wednesday evening.
Hasan Ali's exceptional four-wicket haul restricted Gladiators to a mere 118 runs in the first innings. In response, Kings chased down the target comfortably in just 15.3 overs, with seven wickets in hand.
In the second match of the day at the same venue, Islamabad United will face Lahore Qalandars, with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 7 pm.
Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Karachi Kings saw Shoaib Malik opening the bowling, but conceded early boundaries to Jason Roy. Hasan Ali then struck, taking Roy's wicket in the third over.
A 47-run partnership between Saud Shakeel and Khawaja Nafay was cut short by Hasan, who removed both batsmen in quick succession. Quetta Gladiators faced further setbacks as Sarfaraz Ahmed was run out and Rilee Rossouw was caught in the outfield. Hasan Ali continued to dominate, taking two more wickets in the penultimate over, as Quetta was bundled out for 118.
Hasan's four-wicket haul was the highlight of Karachi Kings' bowling performance, while Zahid and Muzarabani contributed with two wickets each.
Karachi Kings began their chase with the early loss of captain Shan Masood, but Tim Seifert and James Vince steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. Seifert's aggressive batting kept the momentum going, supported by Shoaib Malik. Despite Seifert falling just short of a half-century, Shoaib guided Karachi Kings to victory with an unbeaten 27, sealing the win with a six in the 16th over.
Amir, Abrar, and Hosein each claimed a wicket for Quetta Gladiators.
