Match Analysis
Asked to bat, Delhi posted a total of 188 for five, in response, Rajasthan scored 188 for four. However, in the Super over, Delhi showed their class as they chased the target of 12 runs with ease.
Delhi had a decent start to their innings as Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel (49:37b, 5x4, 1x6) added 34 runs for the opening partnership. But they lost two wickets after that and came under pressure. KL Rahul (38:32b, 2x4, 2x6) and Porel then led the rescue charge and stitched 63 runs for the third wicket.
However, after that Delhi struggled to score runs in the middle, it was then when skipper Axar Patel (34:14b, 4x4, 2x6) provided much needed momentum to his team's innings. Tristan Stubbs (34 not out:18b, 2x4, 2x6) in the end finished the innings on a high as Delhi posted a total of 188 for five.
Rajasthan, in the chase, had a dream start to their innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal (51:37b, 3x4, 4x6) and Sanju Samson (31 retd hurt:19b, 2x4, 3x6) adding 61 runs. Riyan Parag, at three, failed but Nitish Rana (51:28b, 6x4, 2x6) put Delhi bowlers under massive pressure with his brilliant half-century.
Dhruv Jurel (26:17b, 2x6) and Shimron Hetmyer (15 not out:9b, 1x4) then did the further damage and the game went into the last over with Rajasthan needing nine runs. Mitchell Starc then oozed his class with the ball as he made sure that game ended in a tie and went into a Super over.
In the Super over, Rajasthan batted first as they opened with Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer but couldn't score big. They lost Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal to run out and managed just 11 runs. KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs opened the innings for Delhi and they took just four balls to chase the target.
