The Scorchers had a strong start to the run chase with a 57-run partnership between Faf du Plessis and Cameron Bancroft.

Bancroft was particularly aggressive as he led the attack against the opposition, helping the Scorchers stay on track or ahead of their required run rate. When Du Plessis was dismissed, Josh Inglis came in and played a brilliant innings, scoring 47 off 34 balls. Aaron Hardie and Nick Hobson then finished the game, securing a victory for the Scorchers.

Melbourne Renegades bowlers had difficulty making use of the favorable pitch and bowling conditions, performing below par for much of the game. Kane Richardson was their standout performer, taking 2 wickets for 21 runs in his four overs. The spinners, Akeal Hoseiin and Mujeeb Ur Rahman , managed to keep things under control but were unable to take wickets, which ultimately proved to be the difference in the game. The Perth Scorchers earned a great victory and will continue to hold the top spot in the points table.
