Match Analysis
Lucknow Super Giants spun a web around Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana cricket stadium in Lucknow on Friday night as they won by five wickets in a low-scoring encounter of the Indian Premier League.
After opting to bat, Hyderabad made just 121 for eight in their 20 overs and in their response Lucknow overhauled the target in 127 for five in 16 overs.
Hyderabad started their innings slowly as they lost their opener Mayank Agarwal cheaply. Then Anmolpreet Singh joined forces with Rahul Tripathi to revive the innings. Then there was a collapse as Hyderabad slipped from 50 for one to 55 for four. Then a 39 run fifth wicket stand between Tripathi and Washington Sundar brought the innings back on track. Thereafter the innings just did not take off. In the end Hyderabad was restricted to 121 for eight in their 20 overs. For Lucknow the best bowlers were Krunal Pandya (3-18) and Amit Mishra (2-23).
In their response, Lucknow lost Kyle Mayers cheaply. Skipper Lokesh Rahul held the innings together as he added 55 runs for the third wicket with Krunal Pandya (34). Then though Rahul and Romario Shepherd fell successively, Lucknow was still in the hunt as the target was small. In the end Lucknow overhauled the target in 16 overs to finish on 127 for five. For Hyderabad the best bowler was Adil Rashid (2-23).
