India vs Nepal, Match 5, Asia Cup - India overwhelm Nepal in rain affected D/L encounter
India booked their berth in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023 after their scintillating performance against Nepal. They won the toss and opted to field first. Nepal could post only 230 on the board wheres India chased a revised target of 145 runs with 10 wickets to spare.

Nepal openers Kushal Bhurtel (38:25b, 3x4, 2x6) and Aasif Sheikh came out all guns blazing with the bat. They were lucky as India dropped three catches early but they capitalised on that and smashed 65 runs for the opening stand.
After that India chipped in with regular wickets. Aasif Sheikh held the fort with the vital 58 runs off 97 balls including four boundaries.
But after his wicket fell Nepal was reduced to 144 for six. Dipendra Singh (29:25b, 3x4) along with Sompal Kami (48:56b, 1x4, 2x6) played vital hands down the order and took their team to a competitive total. Nepal ended with the total of 230 runs on the board.
For India, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj were the pick of the bowlers with three wickets each to their name.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the innings on a decent note despite some good bowling from Nepal bowlers.
They were batting at 17 for no loss before rain interrupted the play. The game was reduced to 23 overs with India set a revised target of 145 runs. The opener came out pretty positive with the bat and played some crisp shots.
They stitched an unbeaten runs partnership and won the game for their team. While Rohit slammed 74 runs off 59 balls with the help of six boundaries and five sixes, Gill ended with a knock 67 runs off 62 balls including eight boundaries and one six as India chased the target in 20.1 overs.
