Sri Lanka finally off the mark with a hard fought win

Netherlands’ decision to bat first didn’t prove to be correct as they were left in the doldrums. Sri Lanka bowlers were all over them and had them tottering at 91 for six with Colin Ackermann (29:31b, 5x4) being the top scorer till then. They led the rescue charge and added 130 runs for the seventh wicket, which is the highest in World Cup history. Their stupendous effort saw Netherlands ending with a total of 262. For Sri Lanka, Kasun Rajitha and Dilshan Madushanka were the pick of the bowlers as they bagged four wickets each.
