Pakistan was off to a solid start with the bat as Abdhulla Shafique (20:24b, 3x4) and Imam-ul-Haq (36:38b, 6x4) added 40 runs for the opening partnership. They played some crisp shots and even after their wickets fell, Pakistan was in good shape to score 300 runs.
