October 7- Match 3 - Bangladesh vs Afghanistan (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala)

Bangladesh Form Guide:

Bangladesh are in an ordinary form lately. They could win only against Afghanistan and India in the recently concluded Asia Cup. Bangladesh are also plagued by a controversy surrounding their two big stalwarts Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan.

Bangladesh lost in a 3 match ODI series against New Zealand at home by 2-0, which is quite a worrying sign for them.

Warm up match performance:

Bangladesh have won one game against Sri Lanka and lost one against England in the warm up matches. Youngster Tanzid Hasan showed promise with the bat in the match against Sri Lanka.

Players to look out for:

1. Najmul Hossain Shanto - If there is one player from Bangladesh who has impressed the most in the recent past, it's Najmul Hossain Shanto. He is scoring consistently and will hold the key for Bangladesh in the upcoming mega event.

2. Mustafizur Rahman - He is an experienced campaigner who performed very well in the recently concluded 3 match series against New Zealand. Rahman is a prominent wicket taker who will hold the key to Bangladesh's progress in the World Cup.

Afghanistan Form Guide:

Afghanistan have been in horrible form in ODI cricket lately. They couldn't win a single game in Asia Cup, despite coming very close to winning against Sri Lanka in a high scoring affair.

Afghanistan also lost a 3 match series against Pakistan by 3-0 recently.

Warm up matches performance:

One of their warm up games against South Africa was washed off due to rain. In their second warm up game against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan won by 6 wickets (DLS method).

Players to look out for:

1. Rahmanullah Gurbaz - He is an explosive opening batter who can change the course of the game in a matter of few balls. Gurbaz is in good form and should emerge as Afghanistan's top run scorer in the competition.

2. Rashid Khan - He is a world class spinner who comes good in big matches. Rashid isn't in great form currently but he is just 1 good match away from striking it big with the ball.

Let's have a look at the squads:

Afghanistan squad: Hashmatullah Shahidi (c), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Riaz Hassan, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Ikram Alikhil, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Abdul Rahman, Naveen ul Haq.

Bangladesh squad: Shakib Al Hasan (c), Litton Kumer Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto (vc), Tawhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib

October 7- Match 4- South Africa vs Sri Lanka (Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi)

South Africa Form Guide:

South Africa are in fabulous form currently. They have recently won a 5 match ODI series against a strong Australian side by 3-2. All of their key players performed in the series and these are encouraging signs for South Africa when it comes to the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Warm up matches performance:

Their warm up match against Afghanistan was abandoned due to rain. In the second warm up game against New Zealand, South Africa lost by 7 runs (DLS method).

Players to look out for:

1. Heinrich Klaasen - He has become a backbone of the South African batting in the recen times. Klaasen can take on any bowler in the world and bring his team to dominating positions.

2. Lungi Ngidi- He is a clever strike bowler who has plenty of variations under his belt. Ngidi will spearhead the South African pace attack and he is an important member of the squad.

Sri Lanka Form Guide:

Sri Lanka are in superb form in ODI cricket. Although they lost against India in the Asia Cup Final, the Island nation has had some great cricketing moments in 2023, including winning the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

Warm up matches performance:

Sri Lanka have lost both their warm up matches. However, warm up matches aren't a great indicator of their form.

Players to look out for:

1. Kusal Mendis - He is the man in form who performed superbly in the recently concluded Asia Cup. Mendis also batted well in the Warm up match against Afghanistan.

2. Dunith Wellalage - He is a young bowling sensation for Sri Lanka who can provide important breakthroughs in the middle overs. Wellalage is good with both bat and the ball.

Let's have a look at the squads:

South Africa squad: Temba Bavuma (c), Gerald Coetzee, Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen, Lizaad Williams.
