SCORECARD

It was rather a back and forth innings, Hurricanes satisfied in preventing the Heat from gaining an early lead. The pitch had good bounce and carry for batting, but the Hurricanes' bowlers also made effective use of it.

Riley Meredith started the match off with a powerful over, deceiving Joshua Brown and getting him out with a ball right on target. After that, the game went through a difficult phase before Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne started to score runs. Nevertheless, Khawaja, the captain, was out caught by Faheem Ashraf after the powerplay, and Matt Renshaw, who had a successful game last time, struggled to find his rhythm initially.

After Labuschagne's dismissal following the drinks break, Sam Hain struggled to adapt to the wicket. Despite the bounce on offer, none of the incoming batsmen were able to establish themselves until the latter stages of the game. Renshaw made strategic changes and attempted to exploit the field, but his untimely dismissal proved to be a setback for the Heat.

Hain then stepped up during the Power Surge, giving the innings the boost it needed. James Bazley provided the final touches, and with a number of wide balls throughout the innings, the Heat were able to establish a competitive total that their bowlers will now have to defend.

In response Hobart Hurricanes fought back via the bat of Matthew Wade (45) and Tim David (44*) who lead the way.

It wasn't enough though, some crucial moments from Michael Neser (3/27) with the ball, lead Heat to a 12 run win.
