Rajasthan Royals continued their dominance of the IPL 2024 as they thumped Mumbai Indians by nine wickets at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday. Opting to bat, Mumbai posted 179 for nine, in response Rajasthan dominated the chase and won the game with eight balls to spare. 

Mumbai had the worst possible start to their innings with the bat. Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan andSuryakumar Yadav perished early as the visitors were left tottering at 54 for three. Mohammad Nabi (23:17b, 2x4, 1x6) played some crisp shots in his innings but he couldn’t convert the start. With the team reeling at 52 for four, Tilak Varma (65:45b, 5x4, 3x6) and Nehal Wadhera (49:24b, 3x4, 4x6) joined hands and bailed Mumbai out of trouble with their 99-run partnership. Their valiant partnership powered Mumbai to a total of 179. For Rajasthan, Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed a fifer. 

Rajasthan had a magnificent start with the bat in the chase. Yashasvi Jaiswal (104 not out: 60b, 9x4, 7x6) and Jos Buttler (35:25b, 6x4) batted incredibly well for their 74-run stand with the bat. After the England white ball skipper got out, skipper Sanju Samson (38 not out 28b, 2x4, 2x6) joined Jaiswal, who slammed a terrific century. The Indian duo made sure they put Mumbai bowlers under pressure and took their team home with nine wickets in hand.
